Further Narrowing and Possibilities

Now that I had a generic look at food waste globally and in India, I had to narrow down my scope even more. For this, I took four possibilities -
  • Food waste in restaurants and food businesses - what is done with all the extra/leftover food?
  • Food waste in uncalculated, or unexpected sources (the airline industry, for example) and their waste aggregation and immediate use
  • Food wastage related to social norms and awareness relating to media and ad - patriarchal society and class norms coming into play
  • The psychology behind food waste - why do people actually waste food?
Possibilities Explored 

I took the first and the last as possible options. For the first, I did some desk research about how much food is actually left at the end of the day in restaurants, and what is done with it, if any.
